Scarlett Johansson (born November 22 1984 New York City New York, U.S.) American actress and singer whose acting versatility earned her praise throughout a wide range of genres ranging from period drama to thriller and action adventure. Johansson was born in New York City, and raised there by her architect father and producer mother. Her twin brother Hunter as well as her mother were the youngest siblings. At the age of seven, she was already doing auditions for commercials in the television. After that, she was enrolled in the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute and later was a student at the Professional Children's School in Manhattan to improve her skills. The Off-Broadway show Sophistry she appeared with Ethan Hawke at age 8, and in North directed by Rob Reiner in 1994 she debuted in film. Johansson later appeared in Just Cause (1995) but her first breakthrough came with Manny & Lo (1996) a coming-of-age film about orphaned sisters who run away. in The Horse Whisperer, Johansson was a teenager who suffered a horrific accident. The role she played in Ghost World, 2001 as an outcast teenager Rebecca received her more attention. Renee Felice Smith began her professional career as a child. At the age of a young girl, she was attracted to performing. Smith's parents aided her in getting her first role in the acting world when she was six. She starred in a TV commercial for Dannon yogurt. As with many actresses who started out, she decided to perfect her craft within the arena of theatre. She worked on various projects across the USA when she was preparing her debut on stage. She was a student at the Stonestreet Studios Conservatory part of the New York University's Tisch School of the Arts'.
